ISG ALUMNUS RECOGNISED FOR HIS RESEARCH IN ORTHODONTICS

Nandakishore Rajgopal, an alumnus of Class X batch of 2010 at Indian School Al Ghubra, currently studying at A.J. Institute of Dental Sciences at Mangalore in India has authored a chapter in a textbook on Orthodontics under the title ‘Current Trends in Orthodontics’.

The open access peer-reviewed chapter- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in Orthodontics was published by Intech Open on the 11th of October 2021. The chapter highlights the bridge between orthodontics and the engineering branch of mechanics. Nandakishore has presented his findings in a simple manner with an aim to educate the orthodontists to use this method for research and case studies in order to arrive at a well-predicted result rather than the trial and error method that was used previously. This will help in reducing the time taken for orthodontic treatment.

He has collaborated with Dr. Farid Bourzgui, a renowned Professor and PhD scholar from Hassan II College, Morocco. Dr. Bourzgui has applauded the content of the chapter. The book which features the chapter authored by Nandakishore is scheduled to be published on the 16th of January 2022. It is a great achievement for him, a second year Post Graduate student to coauthor with Professors and people with doctorate degrees. Currently, he is working on two other international publications and aiming for a patency.

Reminiscing about his days at ISG he said, “I am grateful to my teachers for helping me develop a firm foundation especially in Physics which later on immensely helped me in the profession of my choice and has turned it into a passion. It is with much excitement that I share the success as a tribute to all the members of the faculty who have been instrumental in moulding me during my formative years.”

The members of the school management and the Principal congratulate Nandakishore on his remarkable achievement and wish him the very best in all his future endeavours.
