ISG WINS TOP HONOURS AT INDIAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Indian School al Ghubra won two awards and a prestigious nomination in the 4th Edition of the Indian Short Film Festival organized by Indian School Muscat. The Festival spanned across schools in the Sultanate. With over 290 teams participating, there were approximately 2150 students manifesting their artistic ingenuity.

The festival encouraged the student community to showcase their creative and imaginative skills which encompassed all skills of film-making from direction and scripting to cinematography and editing. There were three genres in the festival namely Short film (Junior and Senior), Animation film and Documentary film (Open category).

Anika Govil and team comprising Avnish Pai Fondekar, Asmitaa Mohapatra, Daksh Gulecha, Jessica Jose, Satvik Kumar, Aarya Singh and Anika Govil from class 8, won the awards for Best Direction and Best Editing for their directorial debut, ‘Tainted’ which highlighted the importance of mental well-being in a child’s life. Ronith Shibu and team comprising John Arun Kalliath, Diya Krishna, Bhoomi Toprani, Anvitha P V, Michelle Rose, Rohan Paul Bobby, Joshua Joe, Niranjan Sunil and Ronith Shibu from class 9 was nominated for the Best Documentary in the Open category.

The Principal, Ms Papri Ghosh and the Management lauded the creatively-inclined students on their feat and encouraged them to pursue their film-making interests.
