76TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS AT ISG OFFERS A GRAND TRIBUTE TO INDIA’S HERITAGE AND DEVELOPMENT
Indian School Al Ghubra celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great pride and joy on Sunday, the 26th of January 2025. The day’s celebration honoured India’s journey as a Republic, reflecting on 75 years of progress and embracing the theme for the year, ‘Swarnim Bharat- Virasat aur Vikas’ which translates into Golden India- Heritage and Development.
The event began with Aanya Goyal and Mohammad Ayaan of class 11 welcoming distinguished guests, members of the school management committee, parents, teachers, and students. The audience was reminded of the significance of the day, marking the adoption of India’s Constitution in 1950, and encouraged to step into the 76th year of the Republic with renewed pride and hope.
The day’s programme was filled with soulful tributes, starting with a rendition of the National Anthem by the school band. Following this, the band played two iconic patriotic songs: 'Vande Mataram' and 'Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja,' which resonated deeply with the spirit of the nation.
Srihari K. Syam of class 9, then mesmerized the audience with his keyboard performance, setting the stage for the next act. The school choir performed ‘Three Colours,’ a heartfelt tribute to the values of the Indian flag, evoking unity and pride in the hearts of the listeners. It was followed by an interlude based on a fusion of Indo-Spanish music on the guitar and the tabla by Jash and Vedant of class 11.
The Department of English presented a skit titled ‘A Nation’s Strength,’ based on the theme that the true strength of a nation lies in the integrity and character of its people.
The keyboard and Guitar fusion by Varun of class 8 and Yatika G. and Srihari of class 11 added to the celebration of creativity and artistry.
The cultural diversity of India was further showcased by students from classes 6 to 9, who performed a medley of five different traditional dance forms, each representing a unique region of the country. The graceful dances embodied the rich cultural heritage and unity of India, leaving the audience in awe.
The event concluded with the Principal Mrs. Papri Ghosh offering a prayer for the nation, reinforcing the collective desire for peace, progress, and prosperity.
