ISG CELEBRATES 34TH FOUNDER’S DAY IN SPLENDOUR
Indian School Al Ghubra celebrated its 34th Founder’s Day on Thursday, 17th October 2024.
His Excellency, Shri Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman was the Chief Guest for the function. Dr. P. Mohamed Ali, Founder, Indian School Al Ghubra and Mr. Ahmed Rayees, President, School Management Committee, Indian School Ghubra, graced the occasion. Many eminent dignitaries were present at the spectacular celebration.
The function began with the welcome address by the Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh where she reminisced of the school’s humble beginnings and the long distance the school has traversed. The visual presentation of the School Annual Report showcased the achievements of the school.
The Founder, Dr. Mohamed Ali, in his address, emphasised that today’s educators should instill the values and virtues in children and thus, prepare them to face the challenges in the 21st century namely the ones pertaining to artificial intelligence.
His Excellency Shri Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, in his address stated that ISG which is at the forefront of delivering great leaders is also well-renowned with an exceptional zeal for academic excellence. ISG students should be the brand ambassadors of Indo-Omani relationship. His Excellency encouraged the Indian schools to invest in upgrading their libraries to inculcate the habit of reading in children. The key, His Excellency, emphasized is to take out the ‘artificial’ out of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ and encourage the development of natural intelligence.
The Annual Presentation of Awards was announced by the Vice Principal, Mr. G.Sreekumar. His Excellency Shri Amit Narang, Dr. P. Mohamed Ali, Founder, Indian School Al Ghubra, Mrs Rasiya Mohamed Ali and Mrs Nisham Rayees gave away the awards to the toppers in Class 10 and 12 CBSE Exam, Subject-wise toppers, Haji Janab C Saidu Mohammed Memorial Merit Award, Vincent Vision Rolling Trophy, winners at CBSE Nationals (swimming), Inter House trophies, King Constantine Medal Winner, Special Appointees and the Members of the staff who have served the institution for 10, 15, 20 and 25 years.
Following the prize distribution was the staging of ‘A Musical – The Ocean Paradise’. There was a lot of excitement among the students who were a part of this extravagant event. The actors, the musicians and the dancers enthralled the audience with their effortless performances. The stage set as a luxury cruise ship by the Department of Visual Arts was realistic and highly impressed the audience.
The dramatic evening was rounded off by ‘Khalasi – An Indian Orchestra’ where the young singers bedazzled the gathering by performing with an unmatched energy and synchronization supported by various instruments.
With the rendering of the vote of thanks, the curtains were drawn on the 34th Founder’s Day celebration which left all assembled, yearning for more.
