ISG TO HOST INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED MODEL UNITED NATIONS
The International Model United Nations will be held at Indian School, Al Ghubra on the 5th, 6th and 7th of December 2019. The theme of this year’s MUN is ‘Sustainable Development’ and is held under the aegis of the PM Foundation.
The session will be inaugurated by Mrs. Fatma Bint Abdul Abbas Noorani, Advisor – Ministry of Education, Sultanate of Oman.
Dr. P. Mohammed Ali, the recipient of Pravasi Bharitya Samman; Founder, Indian School Al Ghubra and other educational institutions like Caledonian College, Oman Medical College etc., Mr. Ahmed Rayees, President, School Management Committee, Indian School Al Ghubra; Convenor of the Indian Social Club, Malabar Wing and representative of Loka Kerala Kshema Sabha of Oman and Mr. Sunil K. A, Convenor, School Management Committee will also grace the occasion.
This conference will provide students with unique and educational opportunities as they draft resolutions, engage in heated debates and master the art of diplomacy and negotiation.
The participating schools are College De La Salle, Jordan, Welham Boys, India, DIS, India, CSM Public School, India, JDT Islam Orphanage and Educational Institutions, India, Devagiri CMI Public School, India, The Sultan School, Muscat, Indian School Wadi Kabir International, Muscat, Muscat International School, Al Injaz Pvt School LLC, Muscat and Indian School Al Ghubra, Muscat. Eight zestful committees will actively engage in discussions and debates with one another to achieve consensus through negotiations and consultations.
The top five delegates of MUN held at Kozhikode earlier this year from CSM Public School, India, JDT Islam Orphanage and Educational Institutions, India, Devagiri CMI Public School, India and DIS, India, have been sponsored by Indian School Al Ghubra to attend the MUN in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.
The International Model United Nations is all set to make a difference by providing a platform to the student delegates to voice, discuss and debate, learn and familiarize themselves with current and real world issues. By encouraging them to think differently, MUN will also espouse working in teams to find solutions that are both effective and accepted by all. Thus, the conscientious student delegates will involve themselves in enhancing the UN’s efforts in achieving sustainability and world peace.
