ISG STUDENTS EXCEL AT INFINITY MATH CHAMPIONSHIP

Indian School Al Ghubra grabbed top honours at the grand finale of the ‘Infinity’ Math Championship conducted by Aditya Birla World Academy (ABWA), Mumbai in association with BITS Pilani and the University of Waterloo, Canada on 14th and 15th January 2023.

 

The Zonal round of the competition was held in November 2022 in which a total of 450 teams from across the globe, participated. Each team comprised three participants. After the grilling Zonal selections, the top 50 teams globally, were selected for the grand finale.  Roshni Ramananda Prabhu, Kabir Sethi, and Sabyasachi Choudhury, of Grade 10 from Indian School Al Ghubra, performed exceedingly well in the Zonal round with Roshni R Prabhu winning the silver award. Due to their exceptional performance, the trio qualified for the final.

 

There were four rounds in the finale namely, the Clash of Mathematicians (the only individual round), Math Challengers, Pass the Baton and Bulb Your Ideas. The top three teams from the latter three rounds qualified for the grand finale – the Quizzitch round, which was an engrossing on-stage live Math Quiz.

The students of team ISG competed against some of the most reputed schools in India and the world. They emerged victorious in this clash of the titans wherein Roshni R. Prabhu bagged the Bronze and Sabyasachi Choudhury bagged the Gold awards in the Clash of Mathematicians round.  The students of Indian School Al Ghubra have thus, made a mark at this international level contest.

The management and staff of Indian School Al Ghubra applauded the efforts of the young Math achievers and encouraged them to further hone their extraordinary numerical skills.
