STUDENT LEADERS INDUCTED AT ISG
‘Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.’
The Investiture Ceremony of Indian School Al Ghubra for the academic year 2025 -2026 was held on Tuesday, 27 May 2025. It marked the induction of its newly elected members of the Prefectorial Body. The event was also graced by the presence of His Excellency Shri G V Srinivas, the Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman and the members of the School Management Committee.
Mr. Faris bin Abdullah Al-Kharusi, an innovation strategist, transformation architect, Net-Zero Pioneer was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The event commenced with the singing of the School Song. The Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Guest Mr. Faris bin Abdullah Al Kharusi and administered the oath to the newly elected council members. Students pledged to sincerely fulfil the duties towards the school. The elected leaders were conferred with badges by the Chief Guest Mr. Faris bin Abdullah Al-Kharusi and Mr. Ahmed Rayees, President of the School Management Committee assisted by the Vice-Principal Mr. G Sreekumar and the Vice-Principal, Preschool to Primary, Dr Hussaina Azgar.
The Head Girl and the Head Boy of the academic year are Diya Krishna and Anshul Rohit Date. The Vice Head Girl- Aarushi Manikandan , the Vice Head Boy-Brijesh Chowdary Mupparaju, the President of the Student Council – Joshua Abe Samson, Vice President of the Student Council – Aanya Goyal , the Speaker of the Student Council – Bhoomi Sachin Toprani, President of Round Square International Services –Niranjan Sunil were also inducted. Nihaarika Manikkoth and Jonah Viju took charge as the Sports Captain for Girls and Boys respectively.
The Prefects who were officially inducted were Aadil Fatah Salam, Aarav Bharmoria, Advait Kappil, Anaya Fernandes, Aqeedath Khanum, Atul Sanjeev, Behag Srikanth Iyer, Gouri Renjith, Hitesh Kishore Gurnani, John Arun Kalliath, Joshua Joe Pandarakalam, Kanaka Devdatta Deshmukh, Mark Mathews Muthalali, Mridul Sancheti, Neo Samson, Nieve Damian Pinto, Roheth Ramachandran, Sunakshi Singla, Tarun Venkatesh, Vaishnavi Sarang Joshi, Vedanth Nayak and Vinaya Sudarshan Kovil Kandadai.
The House Captains are Jabez Samuel Asir and Brinda Dhavalkumar Nimavat - Muscat House; Aaditya Shibu and Aditi Amarnath Bhakat- Nizwa House; Luke Mithul Abraham and Akshita Sai Ravikumar Sohar House; Affan Riaz and Seethalekshmi Kishore - Sur House.
The members of the Student Council from classes 6 to 12 also took the oath of office.
In his address, the Chief Guest Mr Faris bin Abdullah Al-Kharusi quoted Dr B R Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution by stating that a great man or woman ready to be a servant of society is the kind of leader a country needs. He inspired the student leaders by sharing the personal experiences of his family members where they donned the mantel of leadership.
The song ‘We shall Overcome’ was sung with enthusiasm by all present which was followed by a prayer for the leaders by the Principal, Mrs Papri Ghosh. The event concluded with the recession of the Prefectorial Body. The newly elected members of the Prefectorial Body adorned with their badges of honour, pledged to uphold the values of integrity, responsibility and service, thus, reaffirming the importance of student leadership in shaping the future.
