TREASURE TROVE OF TALENT WITNESSED AT THE 32nd FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATIONS AT INDIAN SCHOOL AL GHUBRA

Indian School Al Ghubra held the 32nd Founder’s Day on Thursday, the 20th of October 2022 in the school auditorium. The Chief Guest of the event was His Excellency Dr. Saeed Bin Hamad Al-Rubaie, Vice Chancellor, University of Technology & Applied Sciences – Muscat. The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Dr Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman Board of Directors Indian Schools in Oman, officials from the Ministry of Education, officials from the Embassy of India, the President of the School Management Committee, Mr.  Ahmed Rayees and other members of the School Management Committee and the Principals of various Indian schools in Muscat as well as other dignitaries and well-wishers of the school.

The Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh, welcomed the Chief Guest and everybody present saying it was a great joy to see them on Founder’s Day after a hiatus of two years. She thanked the officials of the Ministry of Education and the officials of the Indian Embassy for their constant support. She expressed her gratitude to the Chairman and other members of the Board of Directors Indian Schools in Oman and her fellow Principals for their spirit of collaboration throughout the pandemic. She also thanked the parents for their steadfast support and cooperation.

The Founder, Dr P. Mohammed Ali said it was always a great pleasure to visit the school and hear of the many achievements of the students and the alumni and hoped that the school will continue to strive hard and be among the very best CBSE schools in India and abroad.

In his address, the Chief Guest, His Excellency Dr. Saeed Bin Hamad Al-Rubaie commended the parents of the Indian community for prioritizing education which is vital in building a good future for their children. The President of the School Management Committee, Mr. Ahmed Rayees spoke of the introduction of courses on Machine learning, Artificial intelligence and computer programmes such as Python so that Indian School Al Ghubra continues on the path of pursuing excellence in Education.

Medals and certificates were presented to the students for their spectacular performance in the class X and XII CBSE Board Examinations. The special appointees for the academic year 2022-2023 were presented with mementos and certificates. Fifty-one teachers and members of the administrative staff were also honoured on the occasion, for their long service of 10 years and above.

‘Sangeet Samagam’ that followed the Awards Ceremony was an orchestral piece which skilfully blended the Aalap of raga Amrithavarshini with the famous Western piece titled ‘World Dance’  composed by the Greek musician, Yanni.
