VIRTUAL INVESTITURE CEREMONY AT ISG
The first ever Virtual Investiture Ceremony of Indian School Al Ghubra was held on Sunday, 4th of October 2020 for the formal induction of its Prefectorial Body for the academic year 2020-2021.
The event commenced with the singing of the School Song. The Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Guest Mrs. Vanita Uppal, OBE, Director, British School, New Delhi. Mr. Ahmed Rayees, President, School Management Committee also graced the event with his presence.
The Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected student leaders.
The members invested were the Head Girl- Nitu Andrews Machilath and the Head Boy- Mohammad Khuroo ; the Vice Head Girl- Aparna Krishnan Reshmy ,the Vice Head Boy- Lukshya Ganjoo; the President of the Student Council – Mohamed Zeeshan Shoukat Mukhari , Vice President of the Student Council – Nader Nisar Ahmed ; the Speaker of the Student Council – Suyog Suhas Bhat ; President of Round Square International Services -ISG – Aditi Manikandan. Nandana Sheri and Fouad Zenin Nowshad took charge as the Sports Captain for Girls and Boys respectively.
The House Captains sworn in were -Arqam Adiyan and Maria Abraham - Nizwa House ; Vrishab Gladwin Dhavale and Daphny Jessica Gnana Raj - Sohar House; Uday Joshi and Sreenandha Remesh - Muscat House; Shaikh Mohammed Rifat and Rochelle Gonsalves - Sur House .
The Prefects of ISG who were officially inducted were Abhiram Sai Anilbabu, Abdul Hannan Khan, Aditya Harish, Akhil Siby, Alisha Sinha, Ashish Arun Sawant, Ayush Ganguly, Harshal Janjani, Hiba Zafar Zaidi,
Manav Vrajlal Chauhan, Mehwish Baqar Raza, Michael Joseph Aajan, Nikitha Manoj Thomas, Noel Mathew Anil, Pooja Ashokan, Ryan Saji Mathew, Santra Saji, Sashank Singh Rawat, Shane Elton Lewis, Soham Sameer Raniga, Subodh Satish Dalvi and Trisha Lobo.
The members of the Student Council from classes 6 to 12 also took their oath of office.
The Chief Guest Mrs. Vanita Uppal in her address expressed her gratitude to the Principal for inviting her to address the leaders. Mrs. Vanita shared leadership lessons learnt and stated that leadership is all about service and sacrifice. She inspired the newly elected leaders to leave a legacy with the combination of a good heart and a good head.
The President of SMC- Mr. Ahmed Rayees in his address highlighted that leaders must have the quality of empathy and an attitude of gratitude especially in these testing times.
This was followed by a prayer for the leaders by the Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh. The event concluded with a violin recital by Areena Arun of Class 10.
